• Floriculture

Welcome to the world of Floriculture! Students enrolled in Floriculture will be presented with a curriculum that will stimulate, challenge, and inform them of various flowers and plants. They will receive not only theory, but also “hands on” projects, (many of which will be taken home free of charge). The main purpose of this course is to not only dispense information, but to also transform the student into a productive, employable individual in a vocational setting.

Topics to be discussed will include:

    • Corsages and Boutonnieres
    • Floral design
    • Greenhouse production
    • History of floral design
    • Holiday arrangements
    • Plant anatomy
    • Plant identification
    • Pest identification
    • Plant propagation
