BCSSSD High School Campus Jump Start Thrift Shop!

The thrift shop is operated by the High School Transition students who are involved in every process, giving them a learning experience in the retail field.
Gently used items (and new) are placed into donation carts located on campus.  Daily, the students pick up carts and sort the items in their perspective categories.  Clothing and linens are laundered, ironed and/or steamed to assure the highest standard of quality and then folded or hung for shopping ease. Students also refinish small furniture as well as polish, stock and arrange the shelves for the best product presentation.  Items are priced and tagged at a low cost, and paid for using cash or "Price Bucks" (Behavior Mod money) that can be converted into cash.  A layaway plan is also available to our shopping students to help encourage saving and budgeting.
The thrift shop offers an array of items including clothes (for women, men, juniors, children and babies), shoes, toys, purses/bags, video games, DVD's, household items, small furniture and more! The Jump Start thrift shop is open to students and staff throughout the school with weekly classroom shopping visits scheduled.
