Introduction (top)
Imagine that you have just arrived home from school. Your family has just told you that you will be moving. Your new home will be in the state of New Jersey. After spending your entire life in New York, you will need to adjust to a new environment. To make the transition easier, your teacher suggests that you find out about your new home.
Task (top)
Your task is to create an information guide of New Jersey. Your guide will include historical, economic, political, cultural, and social information. You will work in groups of 4, however each of you will be responsible for creating your own guide.
Process (top)
Your guide will include a:
- Cover- think of a "catchy" title. Don't forget to include your name.
- General Info- this would be a good place to include facts about climate and population.
- Historical Places
- Family Fun
- Parks/Shores/Beaches
- Sports/Culture
- Famous people from New Jersey
- NJ Fun Facts- try to find something interesting and unusual.
- Map
You will need to include at least 1 piece of information for each page of your guide.
Resources (top)
Evaluation (top)
Print a copy of the rubric. Bring it to your teacher. Together you will discuss your evaluation.
Conclusion (top)
Now you know a great deal about New Jersey. You did a great job. You can write to your old friends and tell them about your new home. Don't forget to mention your favorite places. Then you can show them a sample of your completed project!
